Most customers just use text-based tracking - allowing "when you want it" locations, as well as automatic alerts if the person wanders too far. But you can also set your GPS Tracker to upload its location regularly to an online server - allowing you to log in (via the website or an app on your phone) at any time to see the current location. It also allows you to see the route of where they've been on recent trips, which can be useful for awareness of routines.

Free Online GPS Tracking for Dementia, Alzheimer's or Elderly Wanderers
If a loved one has started to wander and is at risk of becoming lost or confused, using free online GPS tracking can offer some valuable information.
Their walking route: these tend to become routine, and knowing the probable routes can give some extra help in searching for the person if they become lost. Online tracking allows you to see the history of where they've been.
Enhanced geo-fences: The free online GPS tracking site allows you to set multiple geo-fences of squares or circles that you can create around certain areas. The app version of the online tracking platform will give you a beep-notification if a geo-fence is breached - saving you the costs of texts.

Free Online GPS Tracking reduces battery life a little
Like geo-fencing, free online GPS tracking can reduce the battery life, because it's locating itself every few minutes to upload the locations. You can set it to not upload when it's stationary, so the battery life will drop a little each time the GPS Tracker moves. Typically you should get about 2-3 days of battery life when using online tracking.
If you're planning to use the GPS Tracker outside of UK
With the pre-installed SIM, it will only cost about 50p per month to track online from anywhere in the UK (at least where there is a mobile signal present). If you're planning to use the GPS Tracker in a non UK country, and wish to track online, you will need to ensure that your micro-SIM is data-enabled before installing it. Then, you will need to find out the APN for your chosen network, which will allow you to set up the device to upload its locations. If the person with the GPS Tracker is in the UK though, then you can log in from anywhere in the world to check on them.
